John Wyndham

John Wyndham was an influential English science fiction writer born in 1903 in Birmingham. Before becoming a renowned author, he worked in various fields including advertising and served in the British Army during World War II.

His breakthrough novel, The Day of the Triffids (1951), established him as a master of “logical fantasy” science fiction. Wyndham was known for creating compelling narratives that explored catastrophic scenarios in familiar settings, challenging readers’ perceptions of humanity’s resilience. He wrote several ground-breaking novels before his death in 1969, leaving a significant mark on the science fiction genre.
