Julian May

Julian Clare May (1931-2017) was an American science fiction and fantasy author best known for her Saga of Pliocene Exile series. She began writing in the 1950s, took a long break, and returned to science fiction in the late 1970s. May won the Locus Award for Best Science Fiction Novel in 1982 for “The Many-Colored Land” and was a pioneering figure in science fiction fandom. Her work uniquely blended science fiction, fantasy, and complex character narratives.
